Children in Need

What an exciting day we had! Unlike last year, we didn’t have a visit from Pudsey Bear and the BBC, however the children have thoroughly enjoyed a range of fun challenges with this years theme being ‘Challenge yourself to 25’.

The day was not only about raising money for Children in Need, it was about raising awareness of the projects that support children and how we can all do our bit to ‘Make Life Lighter for Children’. Thank you very much for your kind donations.

Welcome Back to School!

We have had a fantastic start to the new school year and were amazed last week at how brilliantly the children settled into their new classes and routines, making new friends and exploring their new classrooms. The children enjoyed their Wow days and launched into their new topics with enthusiasm. They truly are a credit to you and we are very excited about the academic year ahead, Mrs Newsham – Head of School

End of Term Celebrations

Our last day of the summer term which has been packed full of activities and events, celebrating all the successes of the past school year. We are fortunate to have such a wonderful team here at All Saints’ who make every day a fun and engaging place to be. Thank you to our Governing body, parents and carers and the FOAS members and volunteers who have given their time throughout the year. And finally a big thank you to the children
for trying their best, working hard and for making us proud everyday. We hope you all have a lovely summer break and we look forward to welcoming you all back into school in September!

Physically Active School – Recognition Award

The School Games Mark is a government-led award scheme. It celebrates schools’ commitment to developing competitive sport within their school and community. It allows schools to assess their PE provision and create an action plan for improvement.

We are delighted to share that we have achieved the Gold School Games Mark – a worthy reward for all of our efforts for being such a physically active school.

Fundraising Success!!

We are thrilled to announce that we raised a massive £755.54 from donations made and the sale of baked treats on Red Nose Day. This is an amazing achievement and we would like to thank you for everyone’s contributions. In addition we have been able to restock the shelves in our Foodbank and donate much needed items to Hessle and Anlaby Foodbank. Here are a few photos from the event:

World Book Day!

Thank you to parents and carers for supporting your child to dress up and celebrate World Book Day yesterday. We had a wonderful day in school and we would like to say a big thank you to Miss Hoggarth, Miss B Green and Miss Sheldrick for their hard work in organising the day. Children were invited to Design a Book Cover and we had some fantastic entries! Children enjoyed reading and creating books, creating collage style illustrations, quizzes, and hearing from a selection of authors. Here are selection of photos from the day:

Swimming Panathlon Winners!

On the 21st of January, a group of year 5 and 6 children took part in a Swimming Panathlon at Hymers College.

Our children showed courage, dedication, determination and lots of perseverance! We achieved Gold! 1st place!

We were delighted with this win and we are very proud of what the children have achieved. The children received a Panathlon towel, gold medal, certificate, swim cap and trophy for school.

Well done to everyone who took part!

Merry Christmas from All Saints’

We have had two wonderful festive weeks in school. The Christmas dinner was devoured by many, children have all enjoyed their parties, nursery and FS2 performed their nativities brilliantly, the choir performed to the local community and children from the Infant school and Year 4 concluded the term by leading very special Carol Services in church this morning. Thank you very much to our parents/carers for your support with these events, we understand how difficult it can be to remember party days and other events at such a busy time of year. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Children in Need

What an incredibly exciting time at All Saints’ we have had today! We had the opportunity for BBC Look North to film some of our activities for Children in Need, with an extra special visit from Pudsey! A huge well done to the staff and children who were interviewed. This year we chose the theme ‘Make life lighter’, with a variety of Gladiator based activities taking place. We also supported #oddsocksday to celebrate uniqueness and diversity.

Thank you very much for your kind donations for what is such a worthy cause, so far we have raised a staggering £553.10—Amazing!! A snapshot of today’s activities are below:

Hello Yellow Day

On the 10th October we supported World Mental Health Day by dressing in yellow. A day of spreading smiles, kindness, joy and happiness around the school. Thank you for all of your voluntary contributions.

The total amount raised was £255.83 which is a fantastic effort and for such a worthy cause.
