Our Very Own Marcus Rashford

‘Our very own Marcus Rashford!’

One of All Saints’ Year 4 pupils has demonstrated so many of their school values through fundraising to support the school foodbank.

Maisie, in Year 4, was concerned about why families needed to use the foodbank and explained: “All children should be able to have a treat cupboard like I do.”

With this in mind, Maisie started making some small stress balls and sold them to friends and family. Colleagues at her Dad’s work sponsored Maisie to make 150 of them and this also boosted her funds – the company also offered to match any monies raised.

In worship on Monday, Maisie presented the school with £700 and said there is still some more to come. Over the coming weeks, Maisie will be involved in deciding how she would like the money to be spent.

Headteacher Laura Jackson said: “We are incredibly proud and grateful for Maisie’s donation towards our foodbank. Her creativity, hard work and kindness will have a huge impact on many of our families. As one child stated in worship on Monday, ‘Maisie is like All Saints’ own version of Marcus Rashford.’ Thank you Maisie!”

Maisie is pictured presenting wellbeing lead Lisa Nicholson with the fruits of her fundraising efforts.
