Academy Admissions

Ebor Academy Trust is the admission authority for the school. We are an academy school and cater for pupils between the ages of 3-11.  The school’s admission authority sets the admission policy every year and works with the Local Authority’s Admissions Unit who coordinate places at all schools in the local authority.

If you are interested in your child joining our school, you are able to make an appointment to look around the school with the Assistant Head Teacher or Head of School via the school office on 01482 648082.  We also have FS2 Information Evenings which are usually held in the Spring Term and Stay & Play Sessions for both FS2 and Nursery Children.  Prospective parents are welcome to contact the school office for more details of these events.

How to apply for a place at the school

If you are applying for a reception place or entrance into a junior school, all applications are made in advance to your “home” local authority who empties your bins. If this is East Riding, follow this link

The LA website is a composite prospectus for all East Riding schools and includes information about:

  • all of the steps you need to go through to make an application
  • the key dates
  • an explanation about how places are offered if there are more applications than spaces (oversubscribed)
  • the online application portal – apply online and you’ll be sent your offer by email
  • a summary of each school’s individual admission policy criteria
  • Information about applying under a specific admission criteria (such as your child being previously looked after). It is really important to ensure you submit all supporting evidence by the deadline to show you meet any such criteria.

Children with an ‘Education, Health and Care’ Plan

If your child has an ‘Education, Health and Care Plan’ (or statement) of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), there is a separate admissions process – see Our Local Offer for SEND for details.

For help with your application, contact East Riding Admissions on:

  • We recommend choosing three schools to give your child the best chance of getting a place at a school you prefer.
  • If you live outside the East Riding and want your child to go to a school in the East Riding, you must apply to your own local authority and they will inform us of your request.
  • Going to a school’s nursery does not guarantee your child a place at our school.
  • Late applications may be considered after those submitted by the deadline, often when there are no places available so it is important that you apply on-time.

In-Year Admissions

If your child is moving schools either during the school year or for the start of a new school year, then you will need to make an in-year application using the Local Authority’s Co-ordinated Admission Scheme for in-year admissions. Applications to start our school in-year should be made no earlier than one term before the place is required, and it is recommended that you apply no later than a period of twenty school days, that is four weeks in term time, before you wish for the place to be available for your child.The Local Authority will confirm the outcome of the application in writing within 15 school days. If the application is refused, the Local Authority will advise on the statutory appeal procedure. Details of the Co-ordinated Admission Scheme and how in-year applications are managed are available on this link

STARTING SCHOOL – ADMISSION INTO FOUNDATION STAGE 2 AND YEAR 3

The school has an admission limit of 120 pupils to Foundation Stage 2 (Reception) at All Saints’ CE Infant Academy and 120 pupils to Year 3 at All Saints’ CE Junior Academy. Applications for admission must be made to the Local Authority. The online application process opens annually from October until January.

The school will admit all children with a statement of special educational needs or an Education, Health and Care plan (EHCP) in which the school is named.

Where the number of applications for admissions is greater than the published admission numbers and, after the admission of pupils with Statements of Special Educational Needs where the school is named in the Statement, the school will adhere to the school’s Local Authority’s criteria for the allocation of places when a school is oversubscribed.

All Saints’ CE Infant Academy follows the East Riding of Yorkshire Council co-ordinated admissions procedures for Reception entry and applying for an ‘in-year’ school place.  If you are applying for a reception place or entrance into a junior school, all applications are made in advance to your “home” local authority who empties your bins. Admissions Consultation

Ebor Academy Trust has  a statutory duty to consult with you on their Admissions policies every 7 years or when making changes to the policies.

Between 12th November 2025 and midnight on 8th January 2026, we are consulting on the admission arrangements for our East Riding academies, to take effect for the 2027-28 school year.  During this period, we are interested in the views of residents, parents/carers, governors, staff or any other interested parties.

Changes proposed:

All catchment areas are remaining the same. The main change is a reduction in the admissions number (PAN) from 17 to 8 at Easington Church of England Primary School Reception year group.

Reasons for the change

  • Over the last 7 years the school has had an intake averaging 4 pupils each year with a maximum of 7 and a minimum of 1 admitted;
  • The proposed admission number ensures the straightforward organisation of classes;
  • Pupil projection information provided by the local authority demonstrates a clear decline in pupils numbers;
  • Reducing the PAN to 8 allows us to organise the class structure of 24 in Key Stage 1 and 32 in Juniors (Key Stage 2)
  • The physical accommodation and built capacity of the school will not be reduced in such a way as to make the proposed decrease irreversible in future years. All spaces that can be used as classrooms and teaching spaces may be used alternatively when not required as classrooms, but all shall be retained as potential future classrooms for the future needs of the children in the relevant community.

If approved, the change will not come into force until September 2027

Draft documents can be viewed on the Ebor Academy Trust Website.

Please submit any comments you have to:

w.harrington@ebor.academy.

Following this period of consultation, the admission arrangements will be considered by a trust board committee alongside any comments made. The policies will be determined by 28th February 2026.
