Pupil Premium

The pupil premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.

Pupil premium funding is available to both mainstream and non-mainstream schools, such as special schools and pupil referral units.

AT All Saints’ CE Federation of Academies

• We ensure that teaching and learning opportunities meet the needs of all of the pupils.
• We ensure that appropriate provision is made for pupils who belong to vulnerable groups, this includes ensuring that the needs of socially disadvantaged pupils are adequately assessed and addressed.
• In making provision for socially disadvantaged pupils, we recognise that not all pupils who receive free school meals will be socially disadvantaged.
• We also recognise that not all pupils who are socially disadvantaged are registered or qualify for free school meals. We reserve the right to allocate the Pupil Premium funding to support any pupil or groups of pupils the school has legitimately identified as being socially disadvantaged.
• Pupil Premium funding will be allocated following a needs analysis which will identify priority classes, groups or individuals. Limited funding and resources means that not all children receiving free school meals will be in receipt of Pupil Premium interventions at one time.
• We allocate the funding to other identified children if the performance of those receiving FSM are making the required progress.

Provision

All Saints’ CE Federation of Academies make provision for children by:

• Providing small group work with an experienced teacher focused on overcoming gaps in learning
• Offering 1:1 support in English and Maths.
• Providing additional teaching and learning opportunities provided through trained Teaching Assistants or external agencies.
• Using Specific Intervention Programmes e.g. supporting children to overcome problems caused by Dyslexia.
• Acquiring effective materials aimed at raising standards, particularly in reading and mathematics.
• Aiming all our work on accelerating progress, moving children to at least age related expectations. Initially this will be in English and Mathematics.
• Having Pupil Premium resources may also be used to target able children on FSM to achieve above the expected national standard at the end of KS2.

All Saints’ CE Federation of Academies will publish information on how they have used their Pupil Premium funding: this will include where the allocation in any given financial year was targeted to and the impact of this allocation.

The Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) provides funding for:

Raising the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and closing the gap with their peers, LAC and Post LAC children, and supporting children and young people with parents in the regular armed forces.

The PPG per pupil for 2024/2025 is as follows:

• Pupils in Year Groups Reception to Year 6 recorded as having free school meals at any point in the previous 6 years are allocated £1,480
• Any pupil who is classed as a ‘Looked After Children’ (LAC) is allocated £2,570
• Children adopted from care under the Adoption and Children Act 2002 and children who have left care under a Special Guardianship or Residence Order £2,570
• Pupils in Year Groups Reception to Year 6 recorded as having been a Service Child or in receipt of a child pension from the Ministry of Defence in the last 5 years £340
